Departmental Pillars
Prevent
- Equip student-athletes with knowledge, guidance, and resources to proactively address possible health risks or performance obstacles. Use education and personalized nutrition plans to aim to prevent nutrient deficiencies, injuries, or other issues that could hinder a student-athlete’s progress.

Protect
- Implement evidence-based nutrition strategies to enhance immune function, support injury recovery, and protect the health and well-being of our student-athletes.

Perform
- Empower student-athletes with fuel and nutrition tactics required to optimize their athletic performance. Tailor plans according to the unique needs of each student-athlete, focusing on maximizing energy, stamina, power, strength, and endurance.

Departmental Services
Athlete Care
– Nutrition assessments, nutrition counseling, medical nutrition therapy (i.e., injury, rehab/return-to-play, eating disorder/disordered eating, food allergies/intolerances, special diets, iron deficiency), performance nutrition (i.e., fuel maps, hydration plans, supplementation), sports science (i.e., body composition, hydration testing)

Education
– Team educations (i.e., competition, recovery, supplementation), plate coaching, cooking demonstrations, grocery store tours, life after sport, social media

Food Service
– Grab & Go, The BITE, Red Card, weight room fueling stations, team room fueling stations, competition product
