
Georgia Bulldogs Circle of Honor
The Circle of Honor is the UGA Athletic Association's all-sports recognition program which is designed to recognize and pay tribute to extraordinary student-athletes and coaches who, by their performance and conduct, have brought honor to the University and themselves, and who by their actions have contributed to the tradition of the Georgia Bulldogs. The criteria also stipulates that each recipient has earned his or her academic degree. Â |

Andy Landers, Inducted 2021 Women's Basketball - Captained the Lady Bulldogs for 36 seasons winning 862 games. Won the WNIT Championship in 1981. At the time of his retirement Georgia ranked 2nd in NCAA Tournament appearances (31) and weeks in the AP weekly poll (522). Advanced to the "Sweet 16" 20 times, to the "Elite Eight" 11 times, to the Final Four five times, and finished as NCAA runner-up twice, in 1985 and 1996. Named National Coach of the Year four times. Jack Bauerle, Inducted 2023 Swimming & Diving - 2X team captain during his Georgia swimming career (1971-74). Set program records in the 200-yard butterfly and 1,650-yard freestyle. Bauerle was named head coach of the women’s team in 1979 and the men’s squad in 1983. Led the women’s team to seven NCAA team championships and 12 SEC titles. Named SEC Coach of the Year 18 times and CSCAA National Women’s Coach of the Year seven times. Served as head coach of the U.S. women’s team at the Beijing Olympics. During his 43-year coaching career, Georgia produced 87 Olympians, winning 38 medals, including 15 gold. |

Jarvis Jones, Inducted 2023 One of the best linebackers in program history, Jones owns the school record for sacks in a season (14.5) and tackles for loss (24.5), both set in 2012. Despite playing just two seasons for the Bulldogs, Jones ranks third in program history with 28 sacks and third in tackles for loss with 44. Jones was selected 17th overall by Pittsburgh in the 2013 NFL Draft. |

Courtney Kupets Carter, Inducted 2023 The most decorated gymnast in NCAA history by the end of her extraordinary GymDog career (2006-09). Earned nine individual NCAA titles, won four NCAA team championships and was the NCAA’s Honda Award recipient in 2007 and 2009. She was also a 15-time All-American. She also won the Honda Broderick Cup award, was a two-time CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American and received an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. In 2017, nine years after wrapping up her Georgia career, Kupets Carter returned to the program as head coach. |

Manny Diaz, Inducted 2025 Manuel Diaz - the SEC’s all-time leader among men’s tennis coaches with 781 career victories - retired in 2024 following a 46-year association with the Georgia men’s tennis program. He was a two-time All-American during his playing days from 1972-75, and then during his tenure as head coach, Diaz’s teams captured six national team championships and 29 Southeastern Conference crowns. Georgia reached the NCAA tournament in all 36 seasons under his leadership, while players captured a total of eight individual NCAA championships. Diaz was awarded seven conference Coach of the Year trophies, eight ITA Southeast Region Coach of the Year recognitions and three ITA National Coach of the Year awards. |

Herschel Walker, Inducted 2025 One of the greatest players in college football history, Wrightsville, Georgia, native Herschel Walker was a unanimous All-America selection in each of his three seasons at Georgia. At the conclusion of his college career, Walker owned 41 school records, 16 Southeastern Conference records and 11 NCAA records. As a freshman in 1980, Walker led Georgia to a perfect 12-0 record and the national championship. That season, he rushed for a NCAA freshman record 1,616 yards — a mark that stood until 1996. |

Jeff Wallace, Inducted 2025 Under his leadership, Jeff Wallace led the women's tennis team to six national championships and 36 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances including 13 Final Fours. His student-athletes earned nine national individual titles, two Honda Award winners, two National Players of the Year and three National Seniors of the Year. His 818 career victories ranks second in all of women’s tennis. Wallace, a 14-time Coach of the Year selection is the only collegiate women's tennis coach to be named National Coach of the Year four times. |
