Â
William K. Holmes Family Weight RoomÂ
Director of Strength and Conditioning Scott Sinclair and his staff members are headquartered in the state-of-the-art William K. Holmes Family Weight Room and employ a program with some of the most progressive equipment in the country. The spacious weight room, in conjunction with the adjacent Woodruff Practice Fields and Nalley Multi-Purpose Room, allows for the most efficient workout sessions.Â
Another integral part of the program is the Leon Farmer Award. Given in honor of Athens businessman Leon Farmer, who was a major contributor in the funding of the Butts-Mehre expansion, the award is presented annually to the player whose dedication to the strength and conditioning program results in a significant contribution to the football team.Â
The Harold Harrison Athletic Training RoomÂ
The goal of the Georgia athletic training staff is two-fold: the prevention and care of injuries. Prevention is accomplished through pre-participation physical exams, preventative maintenance rehabilitation programs, taping, bracing, padding and education. When injuries do occur, the athletic training staff's responsibility is to evaluate, diagnose and provide proper care. Director of Sports Medicine Ron Courson and staff have a common goal of returning the athlete to his performance level as quickly and as safely as possible.Â
The Harold Harrison Athletic Training Room features top-of-the-line equipment in order to provide the highest quality of health care available. Team physicians in various specialties provide outstanding on-site care for the student-athletes. Another way Georgia keeps its studentathletes healthy is through proper diet. UGA has an outstanding sports nutrition staff whose charge is to determine the dietary needs of each individual player and to formulate a meal plan that will produce positive results on and off the field.
