Sports Medicine

The goal of the Georgia athletic training staff is two-fold: the prevention and care of injuries.

Prevention is accomplished through pre-participation physical exams, preventative maintenance rehabilitation programs, taping, bracing, padding and education. When injuries do occur, the athletic training staff's responsibility is to evaluate, diagnose and provide proper care.

The athletic training rooms includes some of the best equipment in the nation. Georgia also is blessed with dedicated physicians in various specialties.

Sports Nutrition

The University of Georgia supports the importance of nutrition for athletic performance by housing one of the largest collegiate Sports Nutrition departments in the country. With 2 full time dietitians, 1 fellowship dietitian, and a strong staff of assistants, graduate assistants, and undergraduate interns, we are equipped to offer a unique, competitive edge helping student athletes perform at their personal best on and off the fields of play.

Strength & Conditioning

The Georgia Athletics football strength and conditioning department is headed up by Director of Strength & Conditioning Scott Sinclair and assisted by Associate Director of Strength & Conditioning Maurice Sims and Assistant Directors Strength and Conditioning Jordan Barber, Lonnie Brown, and Tersoo Uhaa.

Additionally, the remaining sports are supervised by Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports Katrin Koch who is assisted by Associate Strength & Conditioning Director for Multiple Sports Sean Hayes as well as Assistants Directors Ryan Gearheart, Josh Rucci, Kelly Dormandy, Brandon Hummer, and Matt Garlitz. This staff works out of the Coliseum Training Center.

The University of Georgia was founded on January 27, 1785, by the Georgia General Assembly. UGA is the first state-chartered university in America.

The main campus is located in Athens, Georgia (Clarke County), about 60 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.

UGA is made up of 389 buildings on 759 acres on the main campus and also includes 39,950 acres spread out over 30 Georgia counties.

The total enrollment typically exceeds over 35,000 including undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and includes satellite campuses in Gwinnett, Tifton, Griffin, and Buckhead.
