Butts-Mehre Practice Facility

Named for coaches Wallace Butts and Harry Mehre, Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall is the nerve center of the UGA Athletic Association.

The building houses the players' headquarters, including the locker room, the weight room, the sports medicine training room and meeting rooms. In addition, it includes football coaches' offices and meeting rooms, historical displays for all UGA athletic teams and the administrative offices of the Athletic Association.

The Woodruff Practice Fields Complex includes two natural grass and one artificial turf field.

In April of 2018, Georgia dedicated the William Porter Payne and Porter Otis Payne Indoor Athletic Facility in honor of former UGA all-star football player Billy Payne and his father, the late Porter Payne, also a former Bulldog letterman. Dubbed the “House of Payne,” the facility is located on the Woodruff Practice Fields and is connected to Butts-Mehre. The facility is programmed for maximum functionality, as it is approximately 140 yards long, 80 yards wide and 76 feet high. The Payne Facility can be utilized by the Bulldogs for practices, walkthroughs and conditioning work and also will be used by other sports in need of indoor space.

Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall is open for tours during normal business hours only: Monday-Friday - 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Bus parking is not provided at the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall.
