WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Georgia volleyball team fell to 14th-ranked Purdue on Wednesday evening at Mackey Arena in a close five-set contest (25-27, 25-19, 10-25, 26-24, 14-16). 
 
Georgia is now 3-2 on the season.
 
FAST FACTS
  • Graduate outside Bianna Muoenke tallied her second double-double of the season with 21 kills and 13 digs. It was her second-straight 20-kill match. She took a career-high 69 attempts. 
  • Senior Alyssa Worden earned her first double-double as a Bulldog with 10 kills and a career-best 16 digs. 
  • Sophomore Chloe Elarton recorded her first double-double of the season with a career-high 41 assists with 11 digs. 
  • Fifth-year libero Ana Julia Bleeker put up 11 digs, the fourth Bulldog in double-digit dig territory. 
  • Freshman Gigi Artiles put up 11 kills for the offense with six digs and three blocks. 
  • Graduate Kendal Kemp added seven blocks while graduate Tori Harper had six in the match. Georgia out-blocked Purdue 13-10, a new season-high for the Bulldogs. 
  • In total, the match featured 39 ties and 15 lead changes. 
  • Georgia battled the Boilermakers tightly in the opening set as it was tied 11 times. The Bulldogs held set point at 24-23, but Purdue battled back late to take the frame 27-25. 
  • Georgia used a 12-2 run to go up 17-8 in the second set. Purdue cut the Georgia lead to three, but the Bulldogs held on to take the set 25-19, evening the match. After hitting .000 in the first set, Georgia regrouped to hit .225 in the second.  
  • The Bulldogs outlasted the Boilermakers, 26-24, in the fourth to force a fifth set. The set was tied 16 times and the lead changed six times.

Georgia returns home to Stegeman Coliseum next week to host Notre Dame on Tuesday, Sept. 8 as part of the Showdown at the Net between the SEC and ACC. First serve against the Fighting Irish is set for 7 p.m. and will stream live on SEC Network+.
