Fourth-Ranked Georgia to Host Red and Black Scrimmage

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia equestrian team will host its annual Red and Black Scrimmage on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex.
The Bulldogs finished fourth at the NCEA Championships last season after posting a 9-6 record and knotted at 3-3 in SEC competition. Two riders with NCEA All-Championship honors, three with All-SEC Freshman honors and two of the four with All-SEC nods return to compete for the Bulldogs.
Senior Abbey Zawisza was named to the NCEA All-Championship team in Horsemanship and gained an All-SEC nod. Sophomore Kingsley Dey joined the NCEA All-Championship team in Flat to follow her SEC All-Freshman honors. Sophomore Avery Taylor earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team for Reining, along with her SEC Freshman of the Year recognition. Sophomore Ava Hathaway received Co-Horsemanship Freshman of the Year after being named to the SEC All-Freshman team.
Georgia earned its first win of the 2025-2026 season in dominating fashion against the eighth-ranked Baylor Bears, 17-3. The Bulldogs started the season with a five-meet win streak, including a win against No. 2 South Carolina, 13-6. A 14-5 victory over the sixth-seeded Oklahoma State Cowgirls in the quarterfinals of the 2026 NCEA National Championship led the Bulldogs to their final competition against the Texas A&M Aggies in the semifinals.
Five-time SEC Coach of the Year and eight-time National Champion, Meghan Boenig returns for her twenty-fifth season as Head Coach of the Georgia Bulldogs.
