Muoneke, Elarton Collect SEC Player of the Week Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Georgia volleyball student-athletes Bianna Muoneke and Chloe Elarton have been named SEC Player and Setter of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday.
Muoneke is the overall SEC Player of the Week as well as the SEC Offensive Player of the Week.
"Bianna has established herself as one of the nation's top outsides," head coach Tom Black said. "She's a relentless competitor and committed leader. We're very proud of her, and there's more to come."
"Chloe just keeps getting better and better," Black added. "She's a steady heartbeat for the team and always keeps the main thing the main thing. This is no surprise, and she will only continue to grow."
Muoneke, a senior from Cypress, Texas, led Georgia to a 4-0 week, recording 5.43 kills per set with a .426 hitting percentage in 14 sets and 6.36 points per set. Muoneke led the Bulldogs to a four-set win over Notre Dame on Sept. 8 at Stegeman Coliseum with a season-high 27 kills on a then-season-best .426 hitting percentage. A third of Muoneke's kills (9) came in the first set. That number tied a Georgia record for kills in a set. She tied Georgia's rally scoring records with 27 kills and 30.0 points in four sets. It was her third double-double of the 2026 campaign with a season-best 14 digs. Muoneke put up double-digit kills in every match of the South Alabama Invitational over the weekend, hitting near or above .400 in all three matches, including a new season-high .469 against South Alabama on Saturday.
Muoneke set or matched season highs in points (30), kills (27), hitting percentage (.469), assists (4), aces (3), digs (14), and blocks (4) in last week's matches. She earned South Alabama Invitational All-Tournament Team honors.
Nationally, Muoneke ranks top 10 in four categories: points per set (6th, 5.32), kills per set (7th, 4.67), total points (8th, 175.5), and total kills (10th, 154). This is her second SEC Offensive Player of the Week award of her career and the first overall SEC Player of the Week honor.
Elarton, a sophomore from Castle Pines, Colorado, ran a Georgia offense that picked up four wins this week. The Bulldogs hit .374 on the week as a whole, including hitting over .400 in back-to-back matches of the South Alabama Invitational. Elarton ran an offense that hit .448 against Tulane on Saturday. That number was the third-highest in a three-set match in Georgia's rally scoring era. The Bulldogs committed only three hitting errors in the match.
Individually, Elarton dished out a career-high 44 assists against Notre Dame on Tuesday and tied her career-high two kills twice in the South Alabama Invitational. She has handed out the second-most assists in the SEC this season (291) and ranks ninth in the league with 8.82 assists per set.
This is Elarton's first SEC Setter of the Week award of her career and the first Georgia setter to win the award since Clara Brower on Nov. 27, 2023.
Muoneke and Elarton join Gigi Artiles to win SEC weekly awards in 2026. Artiles was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Aug. 31.
Georgia hosts rival Georgia Tech at Stegeman Coliseum on Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Bulldogs' non-conference finale. First serve against the Yellow Jackets is set for 7 p.m. General admission is free. UGA students and fans will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the match.
