Bulldogs Close Kitty Harrison Invitational With Three Singles Wins

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Georgia closed competition at the Kitty Harrison Invitational on Sunday with three singles victories, highlighted by No. 5 Aysegul Mert's three-set tiebreak win over No. 7 Irina Balus of Duke.

No. 5 Mert battled past No. 7 Balus of Duke in a third-set tiebreak, (5)6-7, 7-6(8), 10-8.
No. 27 Deniz Dilek earned a straight-set victory over Karina Mohamed of BYU, 6-3, 6-2.
No. 80 Linea Bajraliu also picked up a straight-set win, defeating Theadora Rabman of North Carolina, 6-4, 6-2.
Ava Rodriguez battled Elizabeth Ivanov of Charlotte before falling 6-3, 6-4.

Next Up:
Georgia will return to action next weekend at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, Sept. 19-27. Select Bulldogs will compete in the tournament.
