May 24, 2026 | Baseball

Full Bracket And Game Times For Athens Regional Will Be Announced Monday

ATHENS-----For the third consecutive year and ninth time in school history, the University of Georgia will serve as one of 16 regional hosts for the 2026 NCAA Baseball Tournament, the selection committee announced Sunday night.

The three other teams that will join the Bulldogs at the NCAA Athens Regional will be announced on Monday, May 25 at noon ET on ESPN2 when the entire field of 64, the national seeds and pairings are released. Regional competition is scheduled to take place at Foley Field from Friday-Monday, May 29-June 1. After the ESPN family of networks set the television matchups, a complete Athens Regional schedule with game times will be announced Monday.

Fourth-ranked and SEC regular season and tournament champion Georgia has posted a 46-12 record in the third season under Ike Cousins head baseball coach Wes Johnson. Also, Johnson becomes the first UGA baseball coach to take his first three teams to the NCAA Tournament, and the Bulldogs are expected to be a top eight national seed for the third year in a row. His combined mark of 132-46 (58-32 SEC) is the most overall victories and SEC wins by a coach in their first three seasons in Georgia baseball history.

The Bulldogs will be making their 16th appearance in an NCAA Regional. The Bulldogs won their 2024 NCAA Regional to make their first Super Regional since 2008 and then fell a game short of advancing to the College World Series (CWS). In 2025, Georgia went 1-2 during its regional. Georgia's last trip to the CWS came in 2008 when it finished as the national runner-up.
