Key Quotes

Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Wes Johnson

On the midweek victory…

"The guys were joking, it's a clean Tuesday, right? We didn't walk anybody. We threw strikes. I thought the offensive approach was good. Midweeks can be tough for your hitters. Just about the time they get in the groove, you see so many different arms and so many different looks and approaches that they can be tough. I thought our guys really stayed locked in. I think, believe it or not, as many arms as we saw this weekend at Ole Miss really helped us for today because we saw a bunch of different looks. Then to continue it over to today, I think it helped."

On his first home run...
"It took me a while, so it was definitely a special moment. I've always wanted to hit one out here, so I'm glad I got it out today."

On coming into the game with the bases loaded...

"Really just hunkered down, believe in yourself.  He [Head Coach Wes Johnson] always tried to tell us to just have confidence and belief. Coming in, bases loaded, middle of the order, kind of have to believe in yourself."
