NASHVILLE, Tenn. — No. 1 Georgia women's tennis (8-2, 3-1 SEC) suffered its first loss in Southeastern Conference play, falling to No. 35 Vanderbilt (12-4, 2-2 SEC), 4-2, at the Brownlee O. Currey Jr. Tennis Center on Friday.

The Bulldogs suffered their first loss to the Commodores in the past eight matchups, but still lead the all-time series 40-14.
Georgia fell behind in doubles on court one as Vanderbilt's No. 5 Célia-Belle Mohr and Sophia Webster defeated No. 8 Deniz Dilek and Aysegul Mert of Georgia, 6-2.
At the No. 3 position, Emma Dong and Anastasiia Gureva leveled doubles with a 6-2 victory over No. 88 Mia Yamakita and Erin Pearce, marking their first ranked win as a pair this season.
No. 16 Valeria Ray and Bridget Stammel secured the doubles point for Vanderbilt with a 6-4 win over Georgia's Anastasiia Lopata and Patricija Paukstyte on court two.
Vanderbilt struck first in singles as No. 21 Ray defeated No. 48 Dilek, 6-1, 6-4, on court three.
Dong evened the match for Georgia with a 6-3, 6-2 win over No. 85 Yamakita on court five.
No. 36 Gureva gave the Bulldogs their second singles point with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Trinetra Vijayakumar on court four, tying the match at 2-2.
No. 24 Mohr regained the lead for Vanderbilt, defeating No. 37 Lopata, 7-5, 6-2, on court one.
Pearce clinched the match for Vanderbilt with a pair of tiebreak wins over No. 61 Sofia Rojas 7-6(2), 7-6(2) on court six.
