Bulldogs Post Three All-American Swims at NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – Three members of the University of Georgia men's swimming and diving team earned All-America honors Thursday at the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
 
Following two nights of competition, Georgia ranks 22nd overall with 17.5 points.
 
Fast Facts
100y Butterfly – Senior Ruard van Renen finished 14th with a personal-best time of 44.78, improving his standing as the third-fastest performer in program history and earning Second Team All-America honors.
400y Individual Medley – Senior Cale Martter placed 14th with a personal-best time of 3:39.95, strengthening his time as the seventh-fastest performer in program history and picking up Second Team All-America honors. Freshman Finn Hammer finished 21st with a time of 3:41.93, while sophomore Drew Hitchcock took 28th with a time of 3:43.47.
200y Freestyle – Junior Tomas Koski earned Second Team honors as he tied for 15th with a time of 1:31.62, the second-fastest mark of his season.
200y Freestyle Relay – Sophomore Tane Bidois, van Renen, senior Roman Valdez, and sophomore Elliot Woodburn finished 28th overall with a time of 1:16.81. Bidois led off the relay with a personal-best 50y freestyle time of 19.23, becoming the third-fastest performer in program history.
100y Breaststroke – Woodburn tied for 33rd with a time of 52.45.
 
Up Next
The NCAA Championships continue Friday with the 100y backstroke, 200y breaststroke, 500y freestyle, 50y freestyle, 3-meter diving, and 400y medley relay.
 
In the 100y backstroke, van Renen is seeded third, while freshman Sean Green is ranked 17th in the 500y freestyle. The 400y medley relay is seeded seventh overall and will compete in the final evening heat.
 
Prelims and early heats of the relay finals will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the full finals session at 6 p.m. Live coverage of the NCAA Championships will stream live on ESPN+, with live results available here and on MeetMobile.
