ATHENS – The sixth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs defeated No. 21 Tennessee, 8-7, on Sunday afternoon at Foley Field, to secure the series.

In his return to the mound, sophomore Kenny Ishikawa got the start for Georgia (17-4, 2-1 SEC), a two-inning outing, allowing four runs with two strikeouts. Senior Matt Scott (3-0) earned the win for the Bulldogs in relief, tossing three innings of three-hit baseball, adding four strikeouts. Tennessee's Brayden Krenzel (0-1) received the loss.
Junior Tre Phelps (1-2, 2 RBI) put Georgia on the board in the bottom of the fifth with a clutch two-run single to left, bringing home Kolby Branch and Cole Koniarsky.
Senior Brennan Hudson (1-4, 1 RBI, HR) recorded his eleventh homer of the year in the bottom of the sixth inning, marking the 11th consecutive game the Bulldogs have recorded at least one home run.

Freshman Cole Johnson secured the win for Georgia in the top of the ninth, making a leaping catch at the wall to rob a potential home run to seal the series.
