Georgia Sweeps No. 5 LSU to Advance to ITA Team Indoor Semifinals

EVANSTON, Ill. — No. 1 Georgia women's tennis team (3-1, 0-0 SEC) handed No. 5 LSU (6-1, 0-0 SEC) its first loss of the season with a 4-0 sweep Saturday, advancing to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships semifinals.

In the doubles session, the Bulldogs pair on court two of Anastasiia Lopata and Patricija Paukstyte took down the Tigers Cadence Brace and Addison Lanton in a quick 6-1 decision.
On court one, Deniz Dilek and Aysegul Mert clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory against LSU's Kenna Erickson and Ella McDonald.
With Georgia leading 1-0, Anastasiia Gureva cruised past Florentine Dekkers in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
Senior Sofia Rojas followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Erickson.
Freshman Dilek got the clinch for the Bulldogs defeating LSU's Kuhl 6-3, 7-5.
