ATLANTA, Ga. — No. 1 Georgia (1-0, 0-0 SEC) earned a 6-1 road win over in-state rival Georgia Tech (1-2, 0-0 ACC) on Friday in the Byers Tennis Complex, pushing its advantage in the all-time series to 33-6.

- Georgia earned the doubles point to open the afternoon as the tandem of Patricija Paukstyte and Anastasiia Lopata struck first with a 6-2 win over Tech's Olivia Carneiro and Taly Licht on court two. On court three, Georgia's rookie pair of Anastasiia Gureva and Emma Dong came out on top after defeating Eleni Karantali and Given Roach, 6-2.
- Freshman No. 15 Deniz Dilek of Turkey made her dual-match debut and was the first to finish singles, defeating Georgia Tech's Carneiro 6-2, 6-2.
- Veteran No. 50 Sofia Rojas was next to add to Georgia's lead, posting a straight-sets victory over Georgia Tech's Seri Nayuki, 6-4, 6-0.
