Green Earns Third SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week Honor

ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia freshman Sean Green was named Southeastern Conference Men's Co-Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Green, who was previously named Freshman of the Week on Oct. 21 and Jan. 13, shared the honor with Texas' Aiden Hammer. With the accolade, the Rockaway Beach, New York native became the first Georgia male freshman to earn three FOW honors in one season since Tomas Koski in 2023-24.
Green helped No. 7 Georgia take down No. 11 Tennessee for the sixth time in seven seasons with a pair of distance victories. In the 500-yard freestyle, he touched first with a time of 8:56.94, his second-fastest mark of the season. He later won the 500y freestyle with an NCAA cut of 4:16.69, also the second-fastest time of his season.
Georgia concludes its regular season with Senior Day against DIII power Emory on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. EST at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium. Prior to the meet, 11 members of the Georgia senior class will be recognized for their contributions to the program. Admission is free for all spectators, and the meet will stream live on SEC Network+.
