September 16, 2025 | Football

ATHENS, Ga. --- Redshirt junior C Drew Bobo has been named the Outland Trophy National Player of the Week after the Bulldogs' 44-41 overtime win over No. 15 Tennessee in Knoxville, according to an announcement from the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).

Starting his third consecutive game and fifth of his career, Bobo posted five knockdown blocks while allowing no sacks or pressures during Georgia's Southeastern Conference opener.  He anchored an offensive line that finished with 502 yards as the Bulldogs went 5-for-5 on Red Zone opportunities.

Bobo helped QB Gunner Stockton have a career game with 302 yards passing, two passing touchdowns and another score on the ground.  The Georgia offensive line freed RB Nate Frazier up for a 21-yard scamper in the overtime period before fellow RB Josh McCray rammed his way into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.

Following an off week, the No. 5 Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) play host to No. 14 Alabama (2-1, 0-0) on Dooley Field in Sanford Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 27.  ABC will televise the matchup at 7:30 p.m.
