Bulldogs Compete at World Aquatics Championships

SINGAPORE – Three members of the University of Georgia men's swimming and diving team competed at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships at the World Aquatics Championships Arena.
Monday, July 28
Rising junior Tomas Koski placed 20th for Finland in the men's 200-meter freestyle prelims with a time of 1:47.34. Koski is slated to compete Wednesday in the 100m freestyle.
Tuesday, July 29
Graduate Luca Urlando made a statement with his two swims, first posting the top prelims time at 1:52.71, the second-fastest mark of his career. He followed it up in the semifinals with a first-place time of 1:52.84, besting the field by nearly eight-tenths of a second. He will compete in the 200m butterfly final on Wednesday morning.
In the men's 50m breaststroke prelims, Kristian Pitshugin placed 22nd for Israel with a time of 27.30.
The World Championships continue Wednesday with Urlando's 200m butterfly final, along with Koski beginning competition in the 100m freestyle.
