
Bernstein, Vidmanova Earn 2025 ITA National Awards

ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia women's tennis head coach Drake Bernstein was named ITA National Coach of the Year while senior Dasha Vidmanova earned both ITA National Senior and Player of Year awards, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Friday.
Coming off his second season at the helm, Bernstein has done a tremendous job upholding the program culture and standard set by longtime head coach Jeff Wallace.Â
In 2025, Bernstein led Georgia to a 29-3 (13-2 SEC) overall record and a No. 1 ITA team ranking to end the season after winning three team titles including the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Championship, the 2025 SEC Tournament and the 2025 NCAA Championship.Â
Following the conclusion of this season's SEC Tournament, Bernstein was named SEC Coach of the Year for a second-consecutive season. With the NCAA title in May, Bernstein became the fastest Georgia men's or women's tennis head coach to win an SEC regular season (2024), SEC tournament (2024 & 2025) and NCAA title (2025), completing all three in only two seasons.Â
Georgia the spring undefeated in tournament-style competition, producing a 13-0 record between winning the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Championships (four wins), the 2025 SEC Tournament (three wins) and the NCAA Tournament (six wins).Â
He has also proven to produce immediate results, holding an overall head coaching record of 54-8 (62 matches) while posting the best win percentage through a coach's first 50 matches at the helm in both men's and women's program history at 44-6 (0.88).Â
Bernstein also won the 2025 ITA Southeast Regional Coach of the Year Award for a second consecutive season after earning his first in 2024.
As for Vidmanova, she was the central figure on the courts during the Bulldogs' 2025 campaign.Â
Leading the Bulldogs on court one in both singles and doubles, she became the first player in program history as well as the third woman in NCAA history to achieve the NCAA Triple Crown, winning an NCAA team (2025), singles (2024-25) and doubles (2024) championship during her collegiate career.Â
Following the spring, Vidmanova was named the 2025 Honda Sport Award winner for Tennis, becoming the 21st Honda Sport Award winner in Georgia history, the fourth for women's tennis and the first since 2016-17 (Kendall Williams, track and field).
In the fall, Vidmanova secured the 2024-25 NCAA Singles Championship, securing the program's fourth NCAA singles title (joining Chelsey Gullickson – 2010, Angela Lettiere – 1994 and Lisa Spain – 1984) and becoming the program's first to win both NCAA individual titles after earning the doubles title in 2024 alongside Aysegul Mert, the program's first.Â
At the conclusion of the spring season, Vidmanova officially earned ITA All-American status in both singles and doubles as she finished the year ranked No. 1 in both categories. Earning the 2025 SEC Player of the Year award and All-SEC First Team honors, Vidmanova wrapped up her senior season with outstanding numbers, finishing 32-5 overall in singles (20-4 in dual singles match play) with 24 ranked singles wins (seven vs top 10 opponents) as well as her 100th career singles victory as a Bulldog against No. 32 Alabama.Â
In doubles, Vidmanova was dominant alongside fellow senior Mell Reasco, capping off the year 24-4 overall (23-3 in dual doubles matches). She finished her Bulldog career 107-28 overall in singles with a 68-20 mark in dual singles as well as an 82-45 career doubles record with a 60-34 dual doubles mark.Â
