ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia men's tennis team received an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament. The Bulldogs will travel to the Raleigh, North Carolina to face UNC-Wilmington in the first round of the competition at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on May 2 or 3.
The first and second rounds of the 2025 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament are set to take place at regional sites from May 2-5. Team advancing out of the first weekend will compete in the Super Regionals from May 9-11. The final eight programs will advance to the men's team championships at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas from May 16-18.
Georgia finished the regular season with a 15-10 overall record (8-6 SEC) before narrowly falling to Oklahoma in the second round of the SEC Tournament in Columbia, S.C. The Bulldogs selection to this year's tournament extends its streak of consecutive selections to 41 having made the competition in every season since 1984. In 2020, the season ended early due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and there was no NCAA Tournament that year.
Geared to face the Seahawks in the opening round, this will be the first meeting between the two schools. On the opposite side of the regional, Georgia holds a 9-3 all-time record against host N.C. State and a 4-0 mark against South Carolina State.
Last week, seniors Ryan Colby and Thomas Paulsell were named to the All-SEC First Team while fellow senior Miguel Perez Peña was tabbed as an All-SEC Second Team selection. This trio accounted for 35 singles wins this spring including 21 SEC victories. The Bulldogs were also supported by senior Oscar Pinto Sansano who was tied-second in the conference with 18 singles wins during the regular season.
