Georgia Advances to Match Play in 2025 SEC Championship

SAINT SIMONS ISLAND, GA — The Georgia men's golf team ended the third and final round of stroke play for the 2025 SEC Championship in sixth place at the Sea Island Golf Course on Friday Apr. 24. Ending stroke play in the top-eight, they have secured their place in match play tomorrow and continue to compete for the championship title. 

FAST FACTS

  • Senior Buck Brumlow led the Bulldog lineup for the third-straight day, shooting two-under and settling into T8. This marks Brumlow's fourteenth top-ten finish of his career. 
  • Junior Carter Loflin shot one-over in the third round to wrap stroke play T22. 
  • Sophomore Grayson Wood and Freshman James Earle concluded stroke play T45 at two-over par. 
  • Senior George Langham closed out play for Georgia T57 after shooting two-under par for the third round in Saint Simons.
  • No. 1 Auburn maintains control of first place at 38-under at the end of stroke play. The eight teams joining Auburn in match play tomorrow are No. 7 LSU, No. 17 Texas A&M, No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 8 Florida, No. 31 Georgia, No. 15 Alabama, and No. 3 Texas. 

The Bulldogs will be back in action for the first quarter-final and semi-final rounds of match play in Saint Simons tomorrow.
