Vidmanova Tabbed SEC Player of the Year, Five Bulldogs Earn SEC Postseason Honors

ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia women's tennis team had five Bulldogs earn Southeastern Conference postseason honors headlined by Dasha Vidmanova winning the SEC Player of the Year Award, the SEC announced Wednesday.

Vidmanova, a senior from Prague, Czech Republic, had a standout senior season as she finished the spring as the ITA No. 1 singles player and No. 2 in doubles with Mell Reasco while taking two SEC Player of the Week Awards during the regular season. Posting a 17-4 singles record while going 12-2 in SEC play, Vidmanova tallied 10 wins against ranked opponents while earning three victories over top 10 foes. In doubles, Vidmanova notched a 21-3 dual match record while going 11-2 record in conference play, capping off the regular season on a seven-match win streak along with 10 ranked doubles victories. After leading the Bulldogs to the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Team Championship, Vidmanova became the first and only player in program history to win a team, singles and doubles national title during her collegiate career.

In his second year at the helm, head coach Drake Bernstein earned SEC Co-Coach of the Year for a second-consecutive season. Bernstein led Georgia to a 23-3 and the 2025 SEC Tournament title, earning his second and the program's 11th all-time while also securing a conference tournament three-peat after winning in 2023 and 2024. Bernstein's resume now includes one SEC regular season, two SEC tournament titles, one ITA Indoor National title, two SEC Coach of the Year awards while totaling a 48-8 overall record through two seasons in charge.

Junior Sofia Rojas was named SEC Newcomer of the Year following a strong first season in Athens after coming from Oklahoma State. Rojas produced a 23-8 overall singles record while going 15-4 in dual match play and 6-3 in conference action. She also opened the spring with a statement 10 consecutive victories before taking 11 of her wins this season in straight sets. The junior made noise as a key piece on the back end of the Bulldogs' singles lineup, playing her way into prime position at court six as one of the nation's best newcomers.

Vidmanova alongside junior Anastasiia Lopata and senior Mell Reasco all rounded out the SEC post season awards after being tabbed All-SEC First Team honorees. Vidmanova and Reasco each secured a fourth conference team honor for their collegiate careers, earning their third and second first-team recognition, respectively. Lopata's stellar junior campaign played her into prime position to receive took her first first-team honor after landing on the conference second-team in 2024.
