Georgia Upsets Auburn in NCEA Championship Quarterfinals, 13-4

The seventh-seeded University of Georgia equestrian team upset the No. 2-seeded Auburn Tigers in the NCEA National Championship quarterfinal at the World Equestrian Center on Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldogs swept the Reining competition 5-0, with Shelby Lynch's 71.3 as the highest score.
Sophia Pilla earned the highest score in the Flat rotation with an 86.7 on Campino, as Georgia took four points in the Flat competition
The final score now holds the largest margin of victory for Georgia over Auburn since April 4, 2009.
The result of this meeting extends the Bulldogs ' all-time record to 31-29 against the Tigers.

Georgia will face No. 6-seeded Texas A&M after their narrow 10(1568.75) - 10(1537.67) victory against Oklahoma State University this evening.

This will be the fourth meeting between the Bulldogs and the Aggies this season. Georgia upset the Aggies with a tiebreaker win, 9-9 (1676.25-1659.75), at home in the first match up, while they fell 12-4 in the second meeting in College Station, Texas. The Bulldogs recently competed against the Aggies in the SEC Championship semifinal round and fell by a slim 10-9 result. Georgia boasts a 24-16 all-time record against the Aggies.

Georgia is set to take the stage at 9:00 a.m. ET, Friday morning, at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida to compete for a spot in the NCEA National Championship.
