Fick In Third After First Day Of Decathlon At 44 Farms Team Invitational

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas --- Jordan Fick recorded top-10 marks in three of five events in the decathlon on Friday to finish his opening day of competition in third place at the 44 Farms Team Invitational.

- Fick tallied 3,921 points in the decathlon's first five events to position himself in third place with five events remaining. He earned top-10 placements in the 100-meter dash (6th – 10.90) and long jump (4th– 7.22 meters/23 feet, 8.25 inches) to open the day, posting a new personal best in the long jump with his mark. The senior then went on to place 13th in the shot put (12.05m/39-6.50) and 14th in the high jump (1.83m/6-0) before wrapping up his Friday with a runner-up finish in the 400m with a personal-best time of 47.98.
- Ella Rush finished day one of competition in 11th place with 3,161 points after four events in the heptathlon. She opened the day with a 14.49 to finish 20th in the 100-meter hurdles before placing 12thin the high jump with a clearance of 1.62m/5-3.75. Rush's best result of the day came in the shot put as she finished 10th (11.71m/38-5). The junior wrapped up her day with a 16th-place finish in the 200m (25.40).
- Maximus Tucker posted an 11.63 in the 100m but did not start in the decathlon's final four events on Friday.
