Key Quotes

Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Wes Johnson

On the SEC road sweep

"Everybody was locked in, and I'm proud of our guys. We had a lot of guys contribute. You look at Christian Adams, coming back to his home state and what a weekend he had, to put up those kind of numbers (8-for-14, 3 doubles, 3 home runs, 7 RBI) that was awesome. It feels good, but you guys know we haven't done anything yet. You have to hook it up every weekend in this league. We got West Georgia Tuesday and then a really good Auburn team coming to town next, and they just won a road series with Kentucky where we know it's a tough place to play. We'll enjoy it on the bus ride home, but once we get back to Athens, it's right back to work and get ready for West Georgia on Tuesday."

On Leighton Finley's start

"I thought Leighton today was outstanding. We've worked really hard, and he got his command back today. What was exceptional today was that he had command of his fastball. He was able to locate his change-up and his slider, and when he's able to do all those things, he's hard to hit."

On his series and the sweep

"I've played in this stadium before, but I didn't' do as well as I did this weekend. I was locked in and something about coming back home. I had a lot of family here this weekend. We've all put a lot of work in, and we have to be ready when we're in the lineup. We work on our hitting, our defense. Every day, every game counts, and we try to win them all."
