Ryland Zaborowski Named SEC Co-Player of the Week

ATHENS-----Georgia's Ryland Zaborowski has been named the Southeastern Conference Baseball Co-Player of the Week; the league announced Monday.

Zaborowski, a 6-5, 250-pound graduate infielder from Gilbert, Ariz., batted .438 with one double, six home runs and 18 RBI in four games last week. In the series sweep of Columbia, he had back-to-back games with two home runs and seven RBI. Currently, he leads the nation with a 1.170 Slugging Percentage and ranks second in home runs (10) and RBI (36) while batting .447 in 16 games. He shared the honor with Arkansas' Wehiwa Aloy.

In related baseball news Monday morning, Georgia climbed to No. 4 in the D1Baseball.com weekly top 25 poll and is No. 7 according to Baseball America. The Bulldogs remained at No. 3 in the Perfect Game Top 25 poll. The Bulldogs have won 15 straight games which is the second longest streak in school history, trailing only the 1908 team that won all 20 it played that year to win the Southern Championship.

The Bulldogs and Buccaneers rank second and third nationally in home runs behind Tennessee. The Volunteers have hit 49 home runs while the Bulldogs have tallied 45 and the Bucs 37.
