AUBURN, Ala. – Freshmen Kyler Heffner and Will Gavin each earned NCAA B-cuts on the opening day of competition at the Auburn Invitational Friday at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.

- Heffner touched first in the 500y freestyle, dropping over four seconds for a new personal-best mark of 4:19.37 and earning a B-cut.
- Gavin finished third in the 200y freestyle with a personal-best B-cut of 1:34.84. Earlier in the day, Gavin took sixth in the 50y freestyle with a season-best time of 20.18.
- Junior Clayton Whetstine placed second in the 400y IM with a time of 3:52.51, preceded by a fourth-place time of 1:48.67 in the 200y IM.
- Freshman Tane Bidois finished fifth in the 50y freestyle with a season-best cut of 19.88. He later finished sixth in the 100y backstroke at 48.89. Senior Sam Parker finished fifth in the 100y back with a time of 48.89.
- Junior Steven Insixiengmay finished eighth in the 100y breaststroke with a time of 54.39, followed by senior Jackson Bates in 11th place with a season-best 54.59.
- Junior Tyler Schroeder finished 12th in the 100y butterfly (49.01) and 50y freestyle (22.67).
