UGA Student-Athletes Post Record GPA For Fall 2024

ATHENS, Ga. --- Seventeen University of Georgia athletic teams earned a semester team grade point average (GPA) of over 3.0 leading to a record 3.26 combined GPA for all student-athletes for the Fall 2024 semester (outside of the 3.34 during the 2020 COVID spring semester). The UGA men's tennis and women's golf teams earned the highest GPA among all sports throughout this past semester.
The men's tennis team earned a 3.57 GPA, followed by basketball with a 3.28 and cross country with a 3.26 for the semester on the men's side. The men's basketball fall GPA is the highest for a semester in program history, topping its 3.13 from the winter quarter in 1997.
In women's sports, the golf team combined for a 3.68 semester GPA ahead of cross country (3.66) and soccer (3.56).
Also of note, there were 41 Bulldog student-athletes who were Presidential Scholars (4.00 GPA), 185 more who had GPAs between 3.50-3.99 and another 155 who had GPAs between 3.00-3.49.
