NEW ORLEANS –
Georgia, from the Southeastern Conference, will be featured in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in the Caesars Superdome. The Bulldogs will face the winner of the College Football Playoff First-Round Game between Ole Miss and Tulane. The Allstate Sugar Bowl is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. (Central) and will be televised by ESPN.

The Sugar Bowl Committee encourages fans looking to purchase tickets to visit Ticketmaster as the official verified resale platform of the 2026 Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Also available are multiple premium seating options.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl will be doubling as a College Football Playoff (CFP) game for the sixth time since the CFP was established for the 2014 season. It has hosted four CFP Semifinals (2014, 2017, 2020, 2023) and one CFP Quarterfinal (2024); those five CFP games have combined for over 100 million worldwide viewers on ESPN's platforms.

"The Sugar Bowl Committee is thrilled to host SEC Champion Georgia," said Dorothy "Dottie" Reese, the president of the Sugar Bowl Committee. "We're further excited to watch the First Round to find out whether Ole Miss or Tulane will earn the opportunity to compete against the Bulldogs. We look forward to hosting the fans of both teams for a wonderful time here in New Orleans, and we know the teams will put on a great show on New Year's Day in the Superdome."

This season marks the second year of the 12-team format for the CFP. The four highest-ranked teams, including Georgia, are seeded one through four and have received first-round byes. The other eight teams will play in the CFP First Round with the higher seeds hosting the lower seeds on campus.

"It's a tremendous honor for the Sugar Bowl to be a part of the College Football Playoff," said Jeff Hundley, the chief executive officer of the Allstate Sugar Bowl. "We're fully expecting the 92nd edition of the Sugar Bowl to be another memorable chapter in the organization's history as we host the Georgia Bulldogs and the winner of the CFP First-Round Game between Ole Miss and Tulane. We're guaranteed two outstanding college football programs with passionate fan bases. This is going to be another exciting time in New Orleans."

The winner of this year's game, the 92nd annual Sugar Bowl Classic, will advance to the CFP Semifinal at either the Peach Bowl or the Fiesta Bowl. This year's CFP National Championship will be played on Monday, January 19, in Miami.

Georgia (12-1, 7-1 SEC) earned the No. 3 seed from the College Football Playoff Selection Committee following its 28-7 victory over Alabama in Saturday's SEC Championship game. The Bulldogs will be the 97th conference champion to play in the Sugar Bowl in its 92-year history.

The Bulldogs' opponent for the Allstate Sugar Bowl will be the winner of CFP First-Round Game between No. 6 Ole Miss and No. 11 Tulane who are both making their College Football Playoff debuts. Ole Miss (11-1, 7-1 SEC) posted the program's first-ever 11-win regular season this year – the Rebels are looking to make their 11th trip to the Sugar Bowl and their first since the 2021 season. Tulane (10-2, 7-1 American), meanwhile, is looking to make its first trip to the Sugar Bowl since the 1939 season when the Green Wave fell to national champion Texas A&M, 14-13. It would be the third overall trip for the Green Wave, including a 20-14 victory over Temple in the inaugural Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, 1935.

As both Ole Miss and Tulane already have 10 wins, this year's Sugar Bowl will be the 35th edition of the game featuring 10-win teams.

Georgia will be making its 13th Sugar Bowl appearance, tied for the second most all-time. It has posted a 5-7 all-time mark, including capping an undefeated national championship season with its 1981 victory over Notre Dame.

Georgia has recorded 31 seasons with 10 or more victories, including each of the past six years. This will be the 64th bowl appearance for Georgia; it has an all-time bowl mark of 38-22-3.

Georgia will be making its 41st trip to Louisiana – the Bulldogs have an 18-21-1 record in the Pelican State with a 6-7 record in New Orleans against Tulane, a 5-6-1 mark against LSU in Baton Rouge, a 5-6 Sugar Bowl record (the 2006 Sugar Bowl was played in Atlanta), and a 2-2 record in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier college football bowl games, having hosted 29 national champions, 110 Hall of Fame players, 55 Hall of Fame coaches and 21 Heisman Trophy winners in its 91-year history. In addition to football, the Sugar Bowl Committee annually invests over $1 million into the community through the hosting and sponsorship of sporting events, awards, scholarships and clinics. Through these efforts, the organization supports and honors thousands of student-athletes each year, while injecting over $2.5 billion into the local economy in the last decade.
