December 13, 2025 | Football
ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia's Beau Gardner has won the Bulldogs their first Patrick Mannelly Award, which is given to the top snapper in the FBS.
Gardner, a UCLA graduate transfer from San Francisco, Calif., who was also a finalist for the award in 2024, topped Penn State's Tyler Duzansky and North Carolina's Spencer Triplett for the honor. Gardner was honored at a banquet in Lake Bluff, Ill., north of Chicago on Saturday evening.
Gardner has snapped on 65 of Georgia's 66 combined field goal attempts and PATs as well as each of the 48 punts for the Bulldogs this year. Junior PK Peyton Woodring has connected on 15 of 16 field goal attempts, including all three of 50 or more yards, and is 50-for-50 on PATs. Woodring is ranked fourth nationally with a 94 percent mark on field goals.
Gardner has set senior P and 2025 Ray Guy Award winner Brett Thorson up for a 45.2 average (43.1 Net Punting) as Thorson has forced 22 fair catches, dropped 21 inside the 20 and hit 13 that measured longer than 50 yards. Opponents have five punt returns for 18 yards this season.
Third-seeded Georgia (12-1) will play in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1. The Bulldogs will play the winner of Ole Miss-Tulane, who take on each other in the CFP first round on Dec. 20 in Oxford, Miss.
