Gardner Named Patrick Mannelly Award Finalist Again
December 01, 2025 | Football
ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia's Beau Gardner is one of three finalists for the Patrick Mannelly Award for the second consecutive year, which is given to the top snapper in the FBS.
Gardner, a UCLA graduate transfer from San Francisco, Calif., joins Penn State's Tyler Duzansky and North Carolina's Spencer Triplett in the final group. Including his 2024 finalist selection, Gardner is the only Bulldog finalist in the award's seven-year existence.
Gardner has snapped on 61 of Georgia's 62 combined field goal attempts and PATs as well as each of the 41 punts for the Bulldogs this year. Junior PK Peyton Woodring has connected on 15 of 16 field goal attempts, including all three of 50 or more yards, and is 46-for-46 on PATs. Woodring is ranked fifth nationally with a 94 percent mark on field goals.
Gardner has set senior P and two-time Ray Guy Award finalist Brett Thorson up for a 45.2 average (43.2 Net Punting) as Thorson has forced 18 fair catches, dropped 16 inside the 20 and hit 11 that measured longer than 50 yards. Opponents have three punt returns for 19 yards this season.
No. 3 Georgia (11-1, 7-1 SEC) makes the short trip to Atlanta to face No. 10 Alabama (10-2, 7-1) in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game on Saturday. ABC will televise the matchup from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 4 p.m.
