Georgia Men’s Cross Country Finishes 24th at NCAA Championships
November 22, 2025 | Cross Country
Columbia, Mo. — Georgia men's cross country closes an impressive season with a 24th place finish at the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships at Missouri's Gans Creek Cross Country Course on Saturday morning.
The No. 21 Georgia Bulldogs took 24th place, which is the second-best finish in program history – the first being 19th place in 2012. The Bulldogs finished with 562 total points, registering six ranked wins, two of which were over higher ranked opponents over No. 15 Cal Baptist (577) and No. 18 Princeton (598). No. 1 Oklahoma State claimed the NCAA Championship title on the men's side, besting No. 3 New Mexico 82-57.
Graduate transfer Matias Reynaga finished up his cross country career leading the Bulldogs with a career-best finish of 29:15.8 that earned him 52nd place. Reynaga's 29:15.8 finish also registers the best time by a Bulldog in an NCAA Championship, adding that to an already impressive season of accolades including Third-Team All-SEC and All-Region honors.
Graduate transfer Will Aitken also finished off his collegiate cross country career with impressive effort, finishing in 67th place at 29:22.6. Aitken contributed a steady leading effort throughout the season and finishes his cross country career as a Bulldog with Second-team All-SEC and All-Region honors.
Junior Ryan Olree finished in 140th with a career-best effort of 29:53.2. Fellow junior Conner Rutherford followed in 192nd at 30:23.9. Freshman Kristers Kudlis rounded out the scoring five in 230th with a season-best of 31:05.3 and graduate transfer Oliver Smart took 244th at 31:42.9 as the final Bulldog to cross the line.
"These guys have been warriors all season and they did it again today, said Head Coach Adam Tribble. "These guys have battled through so much, so many adversities, individually and collectively to just get through it even like today. We had some guys that had some difficulties out there, but they've done a great job of rallying together. We've had interchangeable parts all year, especially with what Will [Aitken] and [Matias Reynaga] were able to do today. We have four guys that are right there on any given day. The big takeaway I have is that they're really taking themselves to a whole new level and that's exciting going forward."
With cross country now in the rear view the Bulldogs now look ahead to indoor track & field season, which begins in early January for Georgia, pending the schedule release.
