Georgia Men’s Cross Country Set for the NCAA Championships
November 21, 2025 | Cross Country
Columbia, Mo. — Georgia men's cross country returns to the national stage for first time since 2013 to compete in the 2025 NCAA Championships, hosted Saturday morning at Missouri's Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The 10K Championship race is scheduled for 11:10 a.m. ET and will be available to watch on ESPNU.
For only the sixth time in program history – and the first time in 12 years – Georgia will toe the line at the NCAA Championships. The appearance marks a milestone moment for Head Coach Adam Tribble, who has guided the Bulldogs to Nationals in only his second year in Athens.
"Collegiate cross country teams aspire to reach the NCAA Championships each season, and we are getting that outstanding opportunity on Saturday, Head Coach Adam Tribble said. "I am proud of how this group of guys has meshed and developed from August until now and am confident our preparations have set us up for a strong finale. We look forward to attempting to make this invitation an annual one for this program."
This weekend also brings the Bulldog men back to familiar terrain. Georgia previously raced at the Gans Creek Course in mid-October, where they made a statement by winning the Pre-Nationals Invite. That win propelled the Bulldogs into the rankings for the first time since 2013.
The momentum continued to build as the Bulldogs delivered a runner-up finish at the 2025 SEC Championships, marking the best finish since 2012 with three All-SEC performances.
The Bulldogs then punched their ticket to Nationals with a third-place performance that earned them an at-large bid last Saturday. As a result of four All-Region performances from Will Aitken (8th, 29:34.94), Conner Rutherford (10th, 29:42.29 – PR), Ryan Olree (16th, 30:01.66 – PR) and Matias Reynaga (18th, 30:06.35).
Entering the championship, Georgia ranks No. 21 in the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll ahead of the Championships. Georgia's team of just six runners has drawn the attention of the cross country landscape and their ability to compete as one united front has proved all the more impressive.
Saturday will also serve as a meaningful finale for several Bulldogs. Graduate transfers Aitken, Reynaga and Oliver Smart will compete in the final cross country race of their collegiate careers. Meanwhile, for juniors Olree and Rutherford, alongside freshman Kristers Kudlis, the NCAA Championships represent a pivotal opportunity for development for the upcoming seasons.
