Georgia Men’s Cross Country Wins the NCAA Pre-National Invite to Close Regular Season

COLUMBIA, Mo. —  The men's cross country closes the 2025 regular season in dramatic fashion with a meet victory at the NCAA Pre-National Invitational hosted by Missouri on Friday

• Men's cross country secures the win at NCAA Pre-Nationals in the 8K race with 119 points, earning ranked wins over No. 19 Missouri in second (164 points), No. 24 Ole Miss in third (178 points) and No. 22 Arkansas in eighth (270 points).

• The Georgia men's victory today continues a three-meet win streak for the Bulldogs this season and an undefeated regular season, the best in Georgia history in 20 years.

•  Junior Ryan Olree led the way for the Bulldogs for the third time this season securing ninth-place with a personal best of 23:21.5. He was followed by graduate transfer Will Aitken who gave a season-best effort of 23:28.3 that was good for 15th-place to help the team to victory.

• Playing a part in the victory for the Georgia men,  junior Conner Rutherford (19th, 23:37.3 PR) and graduate transfers Matias Reynaga (28th, 23:51.8 PR) and Oliver Smart (53rd, 24:08.1 SB).

• The Lady Bulldogs finished in 27th place with a total of 706 points.

• Freshman Anastasia Nilsson led the way for the Georgia women this weekend, proving to be an asset to the Lady Bulldogs' squad with a season-best race 20:05.1 that earned her 25th in the women's 6K race. Sophomore Izzy Yonas was next in 54th with a personal-best 20:36.3.

• Other Lady Bulldogs running this afternoon were freshmen Elise Wooddell (222nd, 22:04.2 SB), Lauren Skeens (233rd, 22:08.2) and Maeve Waddell (287th, 22:46.2 SB).

The Bulldogs will take the next week off in preparation for the 2025 SEC Cross Country Championships, which will be hosted by Tennessee on Fri., Oct. 31.
