MACON, Ga. —Anastasiia Lopata and Sofia Rojas each earned first round victories in the ITF W100 Macon on Monday before falling in round two of qualifying on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center.

Lopata, who ranks as the WTA #814, opened her competition with a two-set win over WTA #1145 Zaire Clarke 6-3, 6-2. In qualifying round two, Lopata fell to WTA #744 Jessica Failla in a quick two-sets 2-6, 3-6.
Rojas currently checks in the WTA rankings at #852. On day one of qualifying she defeated WTA #1507 Carson Tanguilig in a three-set battle 6(5)-7, 6-3, 6-4. On day two she fell short in another three-set match against WTA #1084 Ava Rodriguez 1-6, 6-2, 4-6.
WTA #964 Aysegul Mert fought in a three-set match with WTA #759 Ekaterina Khayrutdinova failing to pull the comeback victory on day one of qualifying and losing 6-4, 4-6, 3-6.
Additionally, on day one of qualifying, WTA #704 Anastasiia Gureva fell to Rodriguez in three-sets 2-6, 6-4, 2-6.
