Bulldogs Fall to No. 2 Texas in Front of Season-High Crowd at Stegeman
 
ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia volleyball team fell in three sets to second-ranked Texas on Wednesday (17-25, 21-25, 20-25) in front of a season-high crowd of 4,518 at Stegeman Coliseum.
 
Georgia is now 8-5 on the season and 0-3 in SEC play.

  • Junior Bianna Muoneke led the Georgia offense with 14 kills, hitting .286. She narrowly missed a double-double with a team-high nine digs. Seven of her 14 kills came in the second set.
  • Senior Adriana Rhoda tallied a season-high 11 kills, also hitting .286, in her first start of the season. She added four blocks and three digs on defense.
  • The Georgia block out-worked the Longhorns, 10-5. It was Georgia's eighth double-digit block performance. Redshirt-junior Tori Harper led the team with five.
  • Freshman Emma Bryson put up one kill with three blocks in two sets played.
  • Junior setter Kaiya Tyson dished out a season-high 28 assists with five digs and Georgia's lone service ace.

"I think, for them being the No. 2 team in the country, we didn't act like it. We weren't scared at all. We played absolutely fearless, and I think we went out there and showed the world what we could do. I'm not upset at all at this loss. I think we did a great job, and I'm really proud of this team. By just touching up some little things, we can beat teams like Texas, which is really exciting."
 
On tonight's crowd. . .
"We are so grateful to play in front of these Georgia fans. I think everyone showed out today. They cheered the entire time. We felt all the love and support the whole game. I didn't feel like it dipped at all, so I am super excited for even bigger crowds like this."
