Calderaro and Stumpf Finish Third on Opening Day of Diving Invite

ATHENS, Ga. – Juniors Renato Calderaro and Hannah Stumpf each earned third place finishes as the University of Georgia diving team opened competition at the 2025 Georgia Diving Invitational Friday at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

- Calderaro finished third in the men's 1-meter final with a season-best score of 357.15, besting the 355.20 he scored against NC State on Nov. 9. Sophomore Matthew Bray placed fourth with a score of 346.80, while senior Rhett Hopkins finished 11th at 271.55. Tennessee's Bennett Greene took the title with a winning score of 378.30.
- In prelims, Bray finished fourth on 1-meter with a scored of 319.65, followed closely by Hopkins in fifth place at 316.75. Calderaro placed 12th with a mark of 291.35, while senior Allen Mann took 14th with a season-best score of 281.70.
- Stumpf also placed third in the women's 3-meter final with a score of 297.45 as North Carolina's Aranza Vazquez Montano finished first. Stumpf finished fifth in prelims with a score of 276.15, advancing to the final. Freshman Ivy Buckley placed 16th with a score of 234.55, followed by sophomore Michelle Cummo in 18th at 230.00 and freshman Nyla Thompson in 21st at 217.50.
