ATHENS, Ga. – The 14th-ranked Georgia softball team fell to No. 20 Mississippi State in Friday's series opener at Nusz Park, 2-0.
 
Fast Facts
• This is the first time Georgia has been shut out in 2024.
Sarah Gordon's double in the second inning was her second of the season. Her first was in the season opener against Murray State on Feb. 9.
• Friday's loss is only Georgia's second when wearing its black jersey with red sleeves (10-2).
