ATHENS, Ga. --- Bulldog senior quarterback Carson Beck has been named one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award for the second year in a row, according to an announcement from the award and the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Beck, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., was also a finalist in 2023. The Manning Award will name its 21st winner after the postseason in January 2025.
Stetson Bennett won the 2022 Manning Award while leading Georgia to its second straight national championship. The Bulldogs have been no strangers as Manning Award finalists since its inception in 2004. Jake Fromm (2018-19), Aaron Murray (2012-13), Matthew Stafford (2008), D.J. Shockley (2005) and David Greene (2004) were also all finalists at least once in their careers.
Beck is 283-of-435 this season for 3,429 yards and 28 touchdowns while also scampering for 86 yards and a touchdown. He has guided the Bulldogs to win over No. 14 Clemson, No. 1 Texas and No. 7 Tennessee while only getting sacked a combined two times during those matchups.
No. 6 Georgia (10-2, 6-2 SEC) starts the postseason in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium versus No. 2 Texas (11-1, 7-1 SEC) on Saturday. ABC will televise the matchup at 4 p.m.
