Beck Named Manning Award Finalist Again

ATHENS, Ga. --- Bulldog senior quarterback Carson Beck has been named one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award for the second year in a row, according to an announcement from the award and the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Beck, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., was also a finalist in 2023. Â The Manning Award will name its 21st winner after the postseason in January 2025.
Stetson Bennett won the 2022 Manning Award while leading Georgia to its second straight national championship. Â The Bulldogs have been no strangers as Manning Award finalists since its inception in 2004. Â Jake Fromm (2018-19), Aaron Murray (2012-13), Matthew Stafford (2008), D.J. Shockley (2005) and David Greene (2004) were also all finalists at least once in their careers.
Beck is 283-of-435 this season for 3,429 yards and 28 touchdowns while also scampering for 86 yards and a touchdown. Â He has guided the Bulldogs to win over No. 14 Clemson, No. 1 Texas and No. 7 Tennessee while only getting sacked a combined two times during those matchups.
No. 6 Georgia (10-2, 6-2 SEC) starts the postseason in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium versus No. 2 Texas (11-1, 7-1 SEC) on Saturday. Â ABC will televise the matchup at 4 p.m.
