December 18, 2024 | Volleyball

ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia head volleyball coach Tom Black has announced the signing of transfer Adriana Rhoda from Middle Tennessee.

"We are thrilled to add Adriana to our program," Black said. "She has had considerable success already in her career and will be a great fit for our program both on and off the court. We cannot wait to get started with her."

Rhoda, a 6-3 outside hitter who hails from Hutchinson, Minnesota, has played the last three seasons at Middle Tennessee State where she's garnered All-Conference USA honors each of her three seasons playing for the Blue Raiders. She's already a collegiate 1,000 Kills Club member with 1,061 in three seasons and has tallied 1,257 points.

This past season, Rhoda had an All-C-USA First Team season. She led C-USA in kills with 484, ranking fourth on the program's single-season record list during the rally scoring era. Her 4.07 kills/set ranked third on the program single-season record list during the 25-point era. She broke the program record for career service aces with 117. Her 526.5 points finished second in C-USA. The season saw her top a career-best 26 kills in each of the final two matches of the season and she tallied 22 kills in a three-set match, breaking the program's three-set kill record.

In 2023, Rhoda was named All-C-USA First Team and was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week three times. She was among the top performers in the league, finishing third in kills per set (3.47), aces per set (0.37), and third in points per set (4.10). She topped the double-digit kill mark in 19 of 22 matches, including three times recording 20-plus kills.

Rhoda had a breakout rookie season in 2022, picking up All-C-USA Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors. She was the C-USA Freshman of the Week six times. She broke MTSU's single-season aces record with 67 that season.

The Minnesota All-State outside hitter was a key piece to Hutchinson High School's attack throughout her career, becoming the program's all-time kills leader and passing the 1,000-kill mark in her senior year. She earned all-conference honors twice. In the classroom, Rhoda earned Student of the Trimester, Student of the Week on multiple occasions, and AP Student of the Month. She also racked up a letter for basketball and two letters for track and field.

Adriana is the daughter of Andrea Rhoda and James Nelson. Her father, James, played basketball at Bethany Lutheran College.

Rhoda will join the Bulldogs in January and will train in the Spring.
