Ike Cousins head baseball coach Wes Johnson said it has been a productive fall, and he's encouraged from what he's seen from the club including the number of candidates to vie for starting roles.

"We're really excited for the guys; we had a whole fall away from Foley Field, and it hasn't been the easiest, but they have done a phenomenal job of making it fun out here," said Johnson.  "The score today was a little lopsided as the Black team had some injuries, and it's the end of the fall so I had to step in and make some executive decisions to shut some guys down, and it hurt the Black squad. The games before that, there were pitched well with good defense, some situational hitting and some big home runs."

"Everybody's getting better, and we're excited about where our pitching staff is now," Johnson added. "We've got some options and can really match up, and we'll have lineup flexibility again and be able to move some guys around."
