Georgia Beats Tulsa, 60-44, to Open WBCA Showcase

ORLANDO, Fla. — Led by senior guards Asia Avinger and De'Mauri Flournoy, the Georgia women's basketball team knocked off the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in the first game of the 2024 WBCA Showcase.
Fast Facts
• Avinger joined the 1,000 point club with 13 points on Thursday. She is the 45th player in program history to score 1,000 career points and the third graduate transfer to do so.
• Flournoy led all scorers with a career-high 19 points. She hit a trio of 3-pointers in the first half and scored 13 of her 19 points in the opening 20 minutes.
• Georgia held Tulsa to just 19 percent from the field in the first half as the Golden Hurricane hit just five total shots in the first 20 minutes. Tulsa finished with a 28 percent clip for the game.
• Georgia made a season-high seven 3-pointers in the win.
• The Lady Bulldogs forced 18 turnovers, scoring 17 points off those Tulsa miscues.
• Georgia improves its record to 4-2 this season.
