ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia sophomore place-kicker Peyton Woodring has been named one of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Award given to the country's top kicker, according to a recent announcement from the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.

Woodring was also a semifinalist in 2023, a year after former Georgia kicker Jack Podlesny earned his second semifinalist distinction.  Former Bulldog All-American Rodrigo Blankenship won the 2019 Groza Award.

Woodring, a native of Lafayette, La., ranks fifth nationally with a 94 percent success rate on field goals, going 16 for 17 so far this season.  His performance includes two kicks measuring longer than 50 yards, including a career-long 55 yarder.  Woodring is a perfect 34 for 34 on PATs and earned Southeastern Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors following Georgia's season-opening win over No. 14 Clemson.

The No. 10  Bulldogs (8-2, 6-2 SEC) play host to UMass (2-8) on Saturday.  SECN will televise the 12:45 p.m. matchup.
