November 19, 2024 | Soccer

ATHENS, Ga. – Five members of the University of Georgia soccer team were named to the 2024 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, as announced Tuesday afternoon by College Sports Communicators.

Graduate midfielder Nicole Vernis, graduate forwards Tori Penn and Hannah White, senior defender Jessie Dunn, and sophomore defender Kiera Staude were recognized for their successes this season on the field and in the classroom. Georgia's five honorees set a new program high, surpassing the four recognized in 2011, 2022, and 2023. The Bulldog program has now earned 25 Academic All-District accolades in its history, with Dunn, Penn, and Vernis each earning their second All-District honor.

Staude and Vernis were selected by the CSC Academic All-America selection committee for inclusion on the 2024 Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America Team will be named on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at noon EST. Georgia has placed seven student-athletes on the All-America Team in its program history.
