Georgia Men's Basketball Signs Beck Cammarata Through Team Impact

ATHENS, Ga. – Today, the Georgia men's basketball program announced a new team member, signing 14-year-old Beck Cammarata through Team IMPACT.

Cammarata, who is battling Duchenne muscular dystrophy, officially signed with the team today following Friday's practice. He will participate in many activities with the program over the next two years, including games, practices and other team events.
Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.

Georgia has worked with Team IMPACT in previous years, matching children across its women's basketball, gymnastics, equestrian and swimming & diving teams.
