ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia men's tennis team has added a doubleheader against Eastern Kentucky to its schedule, moving its season opener to Jan. 22, head coach Manuel Diaz announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs' dual match lid lifter will be at 1 p.m. ET at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex against the Colonels, with the second match of the day set to begin at 4 p.m.

This will be the third meeting between the two programs and the first since 1971. Georgia is 2-0 against EKU, with the Bulldogs winning its first match against the Colonels in 1966 by a 7-2 score and in a 9-0 sweep in the previous meeting. EKU finished 4-19 last season and ended its season in the first round of the ASUN Conference Tournament.

Georgia's match against Louisiana at the Athens Regional for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kickoff Weekend on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 2:30 p.m. remains unaffected. The Bulldogs will play either Auburn or No. 19 Texas A&M on Jan. 28, with the consolation match scheduled for 11 a.m. and the championship at 2:30 p.m. Matches played against Southeastern Conference teams in ITA events will not count towards the programs' conference record.
