Georgia Student-Athletes Achieve Record GPA for 2022-23 Academic Year

ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia student-athletes combined to achieve a record-breaking grade point average of 3.20 for the 2022-23 academic year, the UGA Athletic Association announced Wednesday.
Women's cross country and men's tennis are recipients of the Faculty Athletics Representatives Award with top GPAs of 3.72 and 3.70, respectively. The outstanding GPAs are the highest ever recorded for end-of-year team GPAs.
This marks the 10th time men's tennis has earned the distinction. It also represents the fourth time -- and second consecutive honor – for the women's cross country team since the 1992-93 academic year.
Following women's cross country, soccer (3.568), swimming and diving (3.566), tennis (3.477), and volleyball (3.476) round out the top five on the women's side.
Men's cross country (3.37), swimming and diving (3.28), track and field (3.269), and golf (3.262) notched spots in the top five for the men's teams.
A total of 152 student-athletes achieved a GPA of 3.50 or better in the fall of 2022, while 155 obtained a 3.50 or better for the Spring 2023 semester.
