Sedrick Van Pran Named SEC Offensive Lineman Of The Week

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia junior center Sedrick Van Pran has been named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, according to a league announcement Monday.

This marks the first SEC weekly award for Van Pran, a native of New Orleans, La., in his career and the first for the Bulldogs this season.  Current Baltimore Raven Ben Cleveland was the last Georgia offensive lineman to garner this honor.  Cleveland accomplished the feat twice during the 2020 season.

Van Pran started his 33 consecutive game and helped the Bulldogs rack up 458 yards en route to a 24-14 win over South Carolina.  He had five pancakes and allowed zero sacks from his position as Georgia churned out 189 yards on the ground.

The No. 1 Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) play host to UAB (1-2, 0-0 Conference USA) on Dooley Field in Sanford Stadium on Saturday.  ESPN2 will televise the matchup at 7:35 p.m.
