Georgia Announces 2023-24 Non-Conference Slate

August 23, 2023 | Women's Basketball

ATHENS – Seven home matchups and a pair of holiday events highlight the University of Georgia women's basketball team's 2023-24 non-conference schedule, head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson announced Wednesday.

Overall, six of the Lady Bulldogs' first 13 games will be against teams that made postseason play a year ago.  The non-conference schedule runs through Dec. 30, before Southeastern Conference action begins on Thursday, Jan. 4.

The Lady Bulldogs tip off the season with a home contest against North Carolina A&T on Monday, Nov. 6, before heading to Nashville, Tenn., to face Belmont on Nov. 10. Georgia will then host Georgia Southern (Nov. 13), before traveling to Mercer (Nov. 16).

Georgia treks to the Bahamas for the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship Nov. 20 through Nov. 22 in Nassau, where the Lady Bulldogs will play Columbia and Purdue. The team returns to Athens for a four-game homestand against Duke (Nov. 30) in the ACC-SEC Challenge, Furman (Dec. 3), Troy (Dec. 6) and Georgia Tech (Dec. 16).

The Lady Bulldogs then participate in the Sun Coast Tournament Dec. 19 through Dec. 20, where they face Ball State and an opponent to be determined, before returning home to host Wofford on Dec. 30.

As part of this year's SEC slate, Georgia will play home games against Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt as well as away contests at Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt.

After totaling 22 wins — the most for Georgia in five seasons — and a trip to the NCAA tournament, the Lady Bulldogs enter their second year under the leadership of Coach ABE. She was named the 2023 Whack Hyder Georgia Coach of the Year following a successful first season in Athens. This year's Georgia team features nine returning players, with the addition of four newcomers.

Game times and television designations as well as the full SEC schedule will be announced at a later date.
